In August 2022, a group of four USA-based kayakers, Cody Beach, Louis Norris, Bernie Engelman, and Cole Moore, spent five weeks exploring both classic, and soon-to-be classic multi-day rivers of Eastern Madagascar. The primary objective of the trip was to complete the fourth descent of the Mangoro River with enough time for a second and even third expedition. The Snack Pack landed in the capital city of Antananarivo on August 2nd and put on the Mangoro on the morning of the 3rd. After seven days, countless pristine Class V rapids, and multiple runnable mega stouts left for another crew, the Snack Pack arrived at the Indian Ocean, satiated and frothing for more Malagasy Whitewater.
