The big news is that there was a race, as one of the two units at the Deep Creek Hydroelectric Plant was out of commission for the entire summer season. The original race date, always the fourth Saturday of July, was out of the guestion. When the September reschedule date was canceled due to ongoing delays, holding the event looked grim. Organizers promised one more postponement date, and many fingers were crossed. After a long summer of not enough to no water, the 42nd annual Upper Yough Race successfully happened on October 7th, 2022.
