This July celebrated the return of Montreal Eau Vive after two years of absence. The competition offered a new formula this year, two days of freestyle, and an event 100% dedicated to kayaking.Three watercraft were tasked with bringing athletes back to the top ofthe Lachine rapids, one of which broke in the first hour.The formula offered qualifications on Saturday and semi-finals/finals on Sunday. "We are proud of the event, which has undergone a facelift that seems to have been greatly appreciated," says organizer Frédérik Gendron.The Eau Vive is an event unmatched in the freestyle kayaking world. Allowing athletes to surf two of the most beautiful standing waves, Big Joe and Mavericks, with jet ski shuttles, during a single event is unigue.
