NORTH CHICKAMAUGA CREEK CONSERVANCY UPDATE North Chickamauga Creek Gorge, colloquially known as "North Chick," was first navigated in a kayak during the early 1980s by Roger Scott, Dave Bromell, Rusty Dunbar, and Tom Parsons. The creek starts atop Walden Ridge on the Cumberland Plateau and cuts a path east to reach the Tennessee River. A popular put-in for the run is Cain Creek, which was pioneered by Terry Smith, Ron Stewart, Andy Turner, Brian Fisher, Scott Shoup, and Doug Wellman. Cain Creek contains the steepest section of the run, where the creek descends through the fault line in the sandstone on Walden Ridge creating an action-packed section of whitewater.
