The Upper Tummel is one of Scotland's most beloved sections of whitewater, with easy access and something for everyone. The river winds through native woodland and spectacular rock formations. There are several Class III rapids immediately from the put-in, with the main event, a two-stage Class IV rapid called McLarens, right in the middle of the run. It's a beautiful section and super easy to lap. In the Scottish competitive spirit, some local paddlers have racked up an incredible number of runs in a “session,” possibly none more so than Robert Eggleston, who was known to lap from sunup to sundown.
