Kayak Session: Eirik, while your passion for kayaking now inspires travel around the world, you used to consider yourself a passion-less “city boy.” True? Eirik Hansen: That's true. Until I was 16, I had no idea what kayaking was. I think I was a very normal kid growing up—not supercool, not a jerk, not a nerd, but an in-betweener who got along with most people. My life was in the city of Bergen. I played in a band, kicked soccer balls, spent hours on my Xbox, and didn't like spending time in nature.
