This past summer, Rapha Boudreault-Simard, Jen Chrimes, and Kiah Schaepe completed the first descent of Ball Creek in Northern BC. Ball Creek begins in the Mount Edziza volcanic complex in the Tahltan Highlands and is part of the Stikine watershed. The river flows southeast for roughly 41 km before joining the Iskut River. The trip began with a one-hour float plane flight out of Dease Lake. The team was dropped off on Little Ball Lake, which lies adjacent to the headwaters of Ball Creek and is surrounded by stunning red volcanic peaks. This area is very remote and rarely accessed.
