The Grimmingbach is generally less paddled than the other Salzkammergut and Enns Valley rivers as it's a little more work and has a lot of trees in the riverbed. The river is located near the Austrian town of Tauplitz and offers great views of the amazing Grimming mountains. Right above the standard section is a short gorge that is rarely paddled. Though only about 200 m long, it has some crux and consequential moves. The first descent of the short section was in 2005 by Armin Auer and Robert Machacek and ended with Armin having a serious swim in the left undercut wall of the exit waterfall.
