Megha Kayak Festival

The MKF is done and dusted for another year, and this seventh edition did not disappoint. This year, it was nearly an all-Indian race, as there was only one competitor from overseas, Paul Aubertin from France, who cleaned up all his races and took out the overall prize. The Fest program consisted of Downriver Sprint and Kayak Cross. The DR start was on the Super Slide, perhaps one of the highest launch ramps in the world at 30 feet high and 75 feet long, which sends competitors into the Umtrew River at frightening speeds. The river is dam-controlled, and there was a constant flow of 16 cumecs for the festival's duration.
