The 2024 Whitewater King of New York and Beaver River Rendezvous closed out the summer and kicked off race season again in epic fashion. This year, American Whitewater's Bob Nasdor and Alex Barham with the Hudson River and Black River Regulatory District worked a deal with the Brookfield power company to obtain recreational releases on the Moose and Black Rivers on Fridays and the Raquette, Salmon, and Beaver Rivers through the long holiday weekend (Labor Day) to provide something for everyone looking to get out on the water. The Whitewater King of New York race organizers and the Great Falls Foundation took advantage of this year's extra releases by putting on four extreme races over three days.
