The sun came out as paddlers arrived to test their skills at the 12th annual Upper Wind Whitewater Festival and Greg Senior Memorial Race on Saturday, March 18th. Popular with Columbia River Gorge and Portland paddlers alike. The free-flowing Wind River was at 4.8 ft (560 cfs), providing a technical Class IV course for the annual mass start by category race. 51 competitors signed up to race, and the races commenced at high noon. Andrew McEwan paddled hard and managed for his second consecutive first-place finish in the K1 men's longboat division, with a time of 16:19, followed by Zach McFarland in second, Leif Anderson in third.
