FREESTYLE, UNLOCKED As we enter the last big training stretch before the World Championships take place on Good Wave in Columbus, GA, USA (9-14 October), it is time to take off into the airscrews! THE MOST RECOGNIZED TRICK ON THE WAVE! An airscrew is a 360° rotation around the longitudinal axis of the boat, starting and ending in a front surf position, where the boat is aerial for at least 180° of the move, initiated and finished between a horizontal angle of - 20° and 20°, landing in the hole or on the wave. The technical definition might be a mouthful, but the airscrew is one of the most recognized tricks in freestyle and one that every paddler wants to do after watching any Stakeout video.
