In Utah, the traditional pursuit of Whitewater requires many hours of driving, more often than not, to a different state. This winter, record-breaking snowpack has brought about the rare backyard runs with consistent flows not seen since 83'/84', when the streets of downtown Salt Lake were flooding. From Salt Lake City, it is a 30-minute drive north to the Scrambled Eggs section of the Weber River, where we find the Utah locals Sean Abel, Tashi Hackett, and Ruben Castren pulling boats and layering up. After a quick safety chat, they put on a very short Class II warm-up.
