A POSITIVE FLOW After 3 months of drought, rain finally fell on Medellín, Colombia, the city of ever-lasting spring, chasing away for good the spell of El Niño. In the Northern Hemisphere, spring is here too and the meltdown of this year’s promising snow pack is about to begin. April marks a new cycle for many rivers in the world, so let’s push away the winter blues and welcome this new season with positive news! Over two years ago, in October 2013, hundreds of indigenous villagers from the little-known Baram region in Sarawak state, Malaysian Borneo, took a courageous – and some might say foolhardy – stand.
