Eighteen-year old Hunter Katich of Auburn, Alabama has been dominating the Junior Men’s competition scene in freestyle kayaking. In 2012 he was crowned the Junior World Champ, and in 2013 he earned a gold at the ICF Junior World Championships. Hunter grew up paddling on the Chattahoochee River, which flows right through the city of Columbus, GA. In 2012 a whitewater park was developed on the river where Hunter could hone his skills, and have a place to practice daily. His success as a junior paddler earned him a bye to compete in the Men’s category at the upcoming 2015 World’s on Garburator.
