WHERE TO STAY: In the Maipo River Valley you can expect a range of accommodations from camping all the way up to five star lodges. One of the easiest and best locations for kayakers is Cascada De Las Animas, a nice resort along the banks of the Maipo run by the Astorga Family. Here you can take your pick of camping, cabins, or lodge. There is also a great restaurant there where you can try some typical Chilean dishes made by top chefs. There is a large community of kayakers at Cascada de las Animas and you can almost always find someone to get on the river with.
