THE GRAND SALMON: SOURCE TO SEA JOURNEY, APRIL-JUNE 2022 The Grand Salmon: Source to Sea Journey is a four-woman, 1,000+ mile environmental mission on skis, rafts, and kayaks launching April 29th, 2022. Brooke Hess, Hailey Thompson, Elizabeth Tobey, and Alia Payne will follow the juvenile spring migration of salmon from the headwaters of the Salmon River, deep in the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho, down the Snake and Columbia Rivers to the Pacific Ocean. These rivers, once free-flowing, were historically home to some of the most spectacular whitewater and wild salmon runs in North America. The team's massive journey is being undertaken in an effort to tell the story of the environmental and cultural consequences of the continued existence of the Lower Snake River dams and the proposed Stibnite Gold Mine…
