Gonichira waterfall is a stunning ten-meter drop (32 feet) nestled in the picturesque landscape of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India. It is part of the Nayar River system and one of the largest non-glacial perennial rivers in the state. The Nayar River originates from the Dudhatoli mountain range, a middle Himalayan range known for its rich biodiversity and dense forests. The first descent of Gonichira waterfall took place in 2013, led by a team of international paddlers: Shalabh Gahlaut, Joe Rea Dickins, Dan Rea Dickins, and James Edward Smith. They were in India for monsoon kayaking, exploring some lesser-known tributaries of the Alaknanda and Ganga.
