O’Sullivan’s Cascade lies in the beautiful Killarney National Park and is one of the finest steep creeks on the island. It is Ireland's version of a classic waterfall run. True to Irish ditch boating fashion, it only comes up with specific conditions: heavy rain must be falling as you put on, and the wind needs to push the sheets of precipitation into the small, steep valley. Reaching the bottom of the river requires either a paddle across the lake it feeds into or an hour-long hike. From there, you hike as far up as you are willing to paddle. The crux of this seldom-run creek is the technical and committing Triple Drop. The first drop, with its fast, shallow lip, falls around 18 feet (5.5 meters) and lands almost immediately…
