Last November, the very first edition of OËK’UP was held at the Vaires-sur-Marne Olympic whitewater course near Paris. This major gathering of paddlesports, organized by the French Canoe-Kayak Federation, marked a fitting celebration of the recent Olympic Games. For the first time, the federation brought together the national championships of seven different disciplines at the same venue, during the same week. No fewer than 1,400 paddlers came to compete in slalom, downriver racing, kayak cross, marathon, kayak polo, freestyle, or dragon boat. Still dressed in the colors of Paris 2024, the Olympic course proved to be the ideal setting for such a multi-discipline event.
