Xmas at the Kaituna has got to be one of the most fun and festive kayaking events out there. Held every year on the iconic Kaituna River in New Zealand, it brings together paddlers and friends of all skill levels to celebrate the festive season. This year’s event took place on Saturday, December 14th, and saw over 100 competitors join the holiday fun. The day started with registration and a quick safety briefing before the real fun began, with participants already decked out in creative, holiday-themed costumes that set the tone for a cheerful, inclusive vibe. The action kicked off with the Progressive Knockout Boater Cross down the river’s two-kilometer commercial stretch.
