Kayak Session is proud to collaborate with American Whitewater, a non-profit river conservation organization. Our mission is to show kayaking at its best with amazing pictures of paddling on beautiful rivers. Without the hard work and dedication of AW, we would have a difficult time portraying these incredible rivers, and it would probably become even more difficult in the years to come. We would like to acknowledge this work and AW has agreed to keep us updated on some of the projects they are involved in. Reciprocity is the touchstone of our stewardship work here at American Whitewater. We never paddle solo when we enter a process to remove dams, negotiate new hydropower licenses, defend river access, or speak out against new dam proposals. We actively seek collaboration with individuals and groups, mutually sharing our time, expertise, and resources for the protection and restoration of watersheds we hold dear. These key partners include Native Communities who bring traditional knowledge of the lands and waters they have stewarded for time immemorial. Often we are supporting Tribes and Native coalitions as they lead the engagement in decades-long battles to restore and protect rivers our community cares deeply about, but for them may mean protecting or restoring their way of life.
