This fall, Spencer Beck quit his job and headed to Central and South America for an extended paddling tour. The first stop on this trip was in Veracruz, where he met up with some of the local paddlers to work on some waterfall projects in that area. This year, they completed two major first descents near Jalcomulco. The first was a 70 ft waterfall on the Río Sordo that they have been calling Nauyaca. Issac Martinez and Beck ran the first descent of this section last year but walked around Nauyaca on that trip.
