The Irish Whitewater Race League always united a modest paddling community. Since 2018, and owing to multiple factors, attendance had declined, and for a time, all races had ceased. Jumping forward to 2022, Irish paddler Shane Little was determined to revive the league. The community showed up for Shane with several offers to host races on local rivers. After only a month, there was a full calendar of races, and many were excited about the coming season. A highlight is always the Clare Glens Race, with many of Ireland's best drops and rapids packed into a world-class two km stretch. As always, it saw the highest sign-ups with over 30 racers.
