Guidebooks, blogs and social media now give instant access to information about the outdoors. As a result, the need to use a map, do research and planning to visit some remote locations has been much reduced, if not entirely eradicated. You can scroll through Instagram to find a photo, follow a hashtag, locate the geotag, plug it into your phone and be directed by GPS to your desired and #trending location. There are, of course, many benefits of increased access to the outdoors, but that’s an article for another time. WHY ARE YOU HERE?
