Late June means one thing for kayakers around Whistler, BC: The Callaghan Race. Since its inception in 2010, the race has evolved into a vibrant, inclusive weekend where paddlers from all over gather at the riverside campground to participate in three separate races over two days. The event kicked off on Friday night with a solo time trial on the Cheakamus River, an iconic Class IV section. Seventy paddlers lined up to race, marking the highest number of participants ever for this event.
