I was 17 years old when I did my first downwind paddle on the famous Miller’s Run. It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life and one of the most exciting. I have not stopped since; it has literally become my life. If the Hawaiian Islands are the spiritual home of downwind paddling, the Miller’s Run is the gym.
