If you have a year-round or full-time job, you might only get a few weeks of vacation a year-and likely have to plan your time off months in advance. If you are a full-time student, you may only have a few predetermined breaks of time away from school every year. This means that multi-day and far away paddling trips may not always fit perfectly into your window of opportunity. No matter how much you plan and prepare, the weather may change, flows may disappear or rise, or other things, like group members dropping out of a trip or gear failures, might happen.
