But what actually happened when Frenchman-turned-Medellin-local Jules Domine invited Tyler Bradt to chase a dream canyon? During 18 days and 1,000 km (621 miles) through the wet, rugged and guerilla-infested jungles of Colombia, the boys encountered armed groups of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), were interrogated by the military, went on a magic mushroom trip, and befriended local indigenous groups. The Vision The journey to the Araracuara Canyon started with a vision. A vision that stayed carved in my mind for over a year, before becoming a reality and a life changing spiritual journey into mother earth’s finest creation: the Araracuara Canyon, deep in the Colombian Amazon. Flashback to February 12, 2015 and the first descent of the Upper Rio Putumayo in southern Colombia. Night had trapped Aniol Serassolses, Morgan Arnaud and I (Jules Domine) on a small rock ledge, at the mercy of the floodwaters below.
