From Garigal Country, Bungaree joined a British explorer (Matthew Flinders) on a journey to map Australia's shorelines from 1801 to 1803. Bungaree became the first known Aboriginal person to circumnavigate Australia! TEEN EXPLORER In 1805, a young girl in the Lemhi Shoshone tribe near Idaho, USA set out on an important journey. Her name was Sacagawea, and she was guiding two explorers, Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, through the Rocky Mountains of North America to the Pacific Ocean.
