Harriet Amelia ThorpeBORN 8 June 1957IN Hampstead, London A creative clan Harriet’s mum, Gillian Freeman, was once a renowned author, while her dad Edward worked as an actor and writer. Edward also worked in advertising and gave Harriet her first job. “He put me in a Persil commercial when I was three,” she recalls. Harriet’s sister Matilda is an actress too, known for playing Mandy in classic sitcom, Desmond’s. Making mother’s day Harriet is a mum to son, Jack, and daughter, Flossie. She has proudly raised them while working successfully as an actress. “I brought up my kids on my own,” she states, “you keep going”. Jack has followed Harriet into showbiz as an actor and dancer.
