Jason turned both his favourite school subjects into careers…

Jason admits he can find a lot to connect with in Waterloo Road. “My brother and I went to a very rough school, just over the Essex border from London,” he explains. “I had inspirational teachers in English and in art that really kept me from going under. “I did school plays and Saturday acting classes with my brother,” he adds. “He went to drama school and I went to art school. Then I got an acting role in Casualty, which took me in another direction.” Those early art lessons didn’t go to waste – Jason is a successful artist and, in 2022, he won Sky Arts Celebrity Portrait Artist Of The Year with an oil portrait of Noddy Holder.…
