An unexpected comeback as Phil’s mental health storyline continues…

Laura-Jayne snoops behind the soap headlines… EastEnders has announced that Jaime Winstone is returning to the role of a younger Peggy Mitchell – as Phil’s mental health crisis worsens and he suffers hallucinations of his late mother. Jaime previously played Peggy in 2022 for an episode which flashed back to life in the Mitchell house in 1979. This time we’ll see her as a version of Peggy from 1985 (the year EastEnders first appeared on our screens) as Phil’s mind transports him back to his family life of old. “It was such an honour to be welcomed back to play Peggy Mitchell,” says Jaime of her return. “She is a dream role for me, so to be able to contribute to this iconic family on this major storyline has been…
