The man behind this thriving furniture business discovered a passion for design while on work experience with a carpenter

Charles Dickson didn’t always have an appreciation for good design. In fact, he originally studied engineering at university. “I was working with a carpenter on the side and fell in love with timber work, so I dropped out of engineering and enrolled in an interior architecture degree,” he explains. “That’s where I really became exposed to design and where my design journey began.” The course taught Charles to experiment with new ideas and learn from his failures, rather than be defined by them. “The main thing that I took away from it is learning how to take an idea and turn it into something tangible.
