Have everything planned out to the millimetre before work begins. Buy a notepad for your sketches, plans and elevations, as well as any important information that may need to be included along the way.
Try a one-stop shop for all your bathroom needs. This saves running around town to a dozen or so showrooms and will keep costs down as you may be able to get a discount for buying everything from the one store. Beaumont Tiles is a great place to start.
Have all your taps, mixers, spouts and showerheads on site before the plumber starts work. Enough said.
