Using the finest limes and marbles, the man behind the brand is creating stunning surface finishes to stand the test of time

Eric Moroney started at the top, working as an apprentice plasterer on some of Ireland’s most historic buildings. In the 17 or so years since then, he’s retained the high-end work and earnt himself the title ‘master craftsman’ of Lusso (Italian for ‘luxury’ and pronounced ‘loo-so’) Venetian Finishes, a rapidly expanding business he began in 2019. From his Sydney base, Eric works on projects for those who want bespoke surface finishes in eco-friendly Italian lime and a mixture of additives – using techniques that are thousands of years old. He specialises in polished and rough-hewn plasters such as tadelakt (made with limestone), marmorino (marble and lime), tonachino (marble), travertino (travertine) and stucco.
