A Queensland builder and his family traded acreage and horses for the surf of the Sunshine Coast. While they love both locations, their new home is the full package

After building an amazing house on 16 hectares in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Beau Small imagined he and his family would stay put for a few years. But then came Covid-19, a buoyant property market and an itch to do another project. “As a builder, I have a creative nature and a drive to keep building and offering something to the market,” he explains. When Beau heard about land being offered on a new estate close to the beach near Coolum, he and wife Prue jumped at the chance. “Land this close to the beach is always in hot demand,” he explains.
