TOTAL COST £50,000 The term that sprang to mind when we first visited our new home was “European apartment”. It had the high ceilings, parquet flooring and airy rooms that reminded us of flats we’d stayed in on trips to Paris and Rome,’ says interiors journalist Ruth Corbett.
