HEATHER YOUNG PERFECTS THE SUMMER HOLIDAY JUGGLING ACT

It’s not so bad now that my twins are teens, but the summer holidays are always stressful. As well as the obvious child care challenges (or in my case with teens, the endless mum-taxi requests), the house itself comes under pressure from all directions. You’ve got more people sharing the same space, more noise, more food consumed, more washing-up and more general mess accumulating in a seemingly endless cycle. I don’t know about you, but the stack of dirty dishes next to my kitchen sink multiplies as if by magic, and I’m blown away at how many different pairs of shoes it’s possible to wear and discard in the hallway every day.
