Tessa Waugh channels her inner Bridget Jones to interview the hunt's after-dinner speaker - and her horses prove impervious to the "magic dentist's" usual charm

THE hunt curry evening has been around long before chicken tikka masala became one of Britain’s favourite dishes. It involves a village hall, bubbling vats of homemade curry and a talk by a speaker generous enough to give their time to support the hunt. Sir Johnny Scott did it one year, delighting us all with ribald stories about his TV co-host, the late, great Clarissa Dickson Wright. This year we had Jamie Blackett, Dumfriesshire farmer, author and country campaigner who stands up for the rural way of life in The Telegraph, the Daily Mail and Country Life among others.
