H&H's only equine columnist, who raised £100,000 for charity, has died at the age of 23

TRIBUTES have flooded in for a horse who was loved by thousands, raised over £100,000 for charity – and supported the British Olympic eventing team to win gold. Hovis, H&H’s only equine columnist, has died aged 23. The part-Clydesdale had been delighting fans with his online Friday diary since 2008. His humorous accounts – on everything from his penchant for “loose-moralled mares” to his battles with Kevin the keratoma – won him a “Hovite Army” of fans, and were made into nine books, raising thousands for Bransby Horses. “I will probably write one last diary, from me to him,” his owner Karen Thompson told H&H. “But probably what I would say to him would be, ‘Thank you.’ For the most amazing nearly 20 years.
