The Great Escapes WHAT The Hong Kong Tatler Ball WHEN September 10, 2016 WHERE Grand Hyatt Hotel The social event of the season treated guests to an exercise in escapism under the theme The Splendid Journey, with decor and entertainment transporting them to the sundrenched plains of Africa, the waterfalls of South America and the glaciers of Antarctica. Their journey began with Edipresse Media Asia executive chairman Michel Lamunière, his wife, Tamara, and Hong Kong Tatler social relations director Kimberly Hu presenting them with train tickets bearing their table numbers. Guests then traversed a hallway decorated with world maps to the cocktail lounge, where an exhibition of photographs by National Geographic lensman Steve McCurry heightened the atmosphere of wanderlust and drinks flowed from The Macallan Cocktail Bar.
