1 ELK MOUNTAIN LODGE, COLORADO Aspen is one of the most fashionable ski resorts in Colorado and has a good many imposing homes for sale to those who like to spend a good part of the year among its snowy peaks. But few properties compare to West Aspen’s Elk Mountain Lodge at 125 Rooney Circle, which is not just one house, but four, with an additional eight buildings set on 33 hectares of land. Originally built as a bed-and-breakfast enterprise, the estate was bought for private use by the current owner, billionaire businessman and oil investor Bill Koch, whose boat won the America’s Cup in 1992.
