AMAZING HOMES The owners of this spacious, semi-detached house in Dulwich, south London sought to modernise and expand their family home while preserving its late-Victorian charm. To realise their vision they engaged Fraher & Findlay architects to extend and refurbish their ground-floor living space.
Designs were consequently drawn up to reconfigure the ground-floor layout, prioritising communal spaces facing the garden. A staggered infill extension provides a harmonious connection between the house and the garden, designed to cushion the rest of the property and not overwhelm its existing scale. “By staggering the elevations facing the garden, they function like siblings to the main house,” explains director Lizzie Fraher.
