The owners of this detached five bedroom house in Reigate, Surrey, loved the property but always felt that the downstairs living spaces were a little detached from the garden. Although the kitchen, family room and living room were all at the rear of the house, the small windows prevented the owners from enjoying the views. An old awning provided a covered garden space, which gave us a clear indication of where best to locate a new extension.
