If you decide that you want to have some involvement in hiring tradespeople, whatever buying route you take, then you’ll want to start thinking about this once you’ve had your kitchen plans drawn up. You’ll want to find trades you can trust to carry out the work — whether it’s someone to undertake structural work, the entire project from install to finish, or an electrician to ensure you get electrics done to Building Regs standards (notifiable work that needs certification like a new circuit, although you may also want them to undertake non-notifiable work like changing light fittings).
