I often hear the story told that when the cold weather returns after summer the homeowner goes to turn on the central heating and… nothing. They turn the room thermostat dial up and down, flick the switch a few times and… still nothing. Or, sometimes, even if the system does fire up, the radiators do not feel as effective as they should. But how can this be? The hot water still works fine and no one has touched the boiler or controls all summer.
