Although thought of as a typically traditional style of patio door (and they certainly do suit period-style properties well), French patio doors are also available in more contemporary styles in materials such as aluminium. Comprising two glazed doors hinged on opposing sides of a frame, French doors are well suited to smaller openings. They come in both bespoke and standard sizes. The standard sizes are 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m. They are also a handy way of gaining quick access to the garden, as opposed to having to open up a whole run of bifolds.
