Extending out to the side, rear and upwards created a home that seems more expansive than its footprint — which was achieved by visually connecting spaces to others by creating external views in multiple directions and interior double-height spaces. To reduce embodied carbon, mineral wool was used to insulate the existing and new FSC timber frame, while the home is fitted with an air source heat pump with the capacity for incorporating future solar panels.…
