ANTES de pensar en convertirse en actor, Andy García quiso ser deportista. El baloncesto y el beisbol —por cierto, que tuvo como «coach» a otro actor nominado al Oscar, Mickey Rourke—formaron parte de su niñez y su juventud, también el tenis, y hoy en día es un apasionado del golf: suele jugar torneos y llegó a alcanzar el hándicap 7. Quizá perdimos a un baloncestista extraordinario o a un «catcher» de récord, quién sabe, pero el cine ganó a uno de sus mejores intérpretes.
